SLIPKNOT: No New Music Until Summer 2003

SLIPKNOT will not commence work on the follow-up to Iowa until early next year, according to frontman Corey Taylor. A summer 2003 release through Roadrunner Records is expected. In the meantime, the group will perform at several European festivals in August, including the UK's Reading and Leeds festivals, and Germany's Off Limits festival.

In related news, Taylor has finished tracking 16 songs for his forthcoming solo project, tentatively dubbed CLOSURE. Featuring contributions from SLIPKNOT guitarist Jim Root, two ex-members of Taylor's previous band STONE SOUR, and a guitarist with whom Corey has reportedly been collaborating on music for the past 13 years, CLOSURE's debut album will contain material that Corey describes as "real melodic. It's more hard rock, but it's still heavy, by all means….it's really heavy. But at the same time it's nowhere near as heavy as SLIPKNOT is. This is more of like METALLICA meets ALICE IN CHAINS. It's really good stuff and I hope people dig it."

Tentatively due to be released in late summer/early fall, CLOSURE's debut album will be followed by a full-length tour.
